Still need to tidy up Allhallows Lane, Beast Banks and Kirkland, amongst many others. What is it all about?

KendalWikiis a home for any information about the market town of Kendal in the county of Cumbria, in England.

This site now contains some information about buildings, people and events in Kendal, illustrated with photographs from 2000 at the moment and some old photographs, postcards and maps of Kendal. It is a 'Wiki' site which can be added to by anyone so please edit it to include anything you know about the buildings, structures, history, development, conservation, people and culture of Kendal. I hope it will become a repository for memories and facts.

If you wish to contribute please contact jon at auldgrey.plus.com. I will provide you with a login so you can include text and pictures, audio files and any other type of uploadable file.

Links shown in red are to pages that do not yet exist. If you have some information you would like to contribute but not become a site editor (see above) please email it to me and I will create the appropriate pages. Do not worry about formatting - I will tidy it up if necessary. You can also provide links to other sites by including the URL (e.g. Fellside Forum or Kendal Civic Society) in your email.

Some suggested rules: Please respect other peoples privacy Don't include information about living people (unless it is about yourself and then be careful about what you reveal) Only upload text, images (photos, etc.) if you own the copyright AND are prepared to let others use them freely. Current businesses may provide a link to their own website but must not advertise on this site, except to say what they do
